Checkhov's Dacha
Modern house with 19th century atmosphere
Chekhov’s dacha is located in the suburbs of Moscow, not far from the capital. The classic architecture blends perfectly into the naturally beautiful landscape.
This elegant house was inspired by the romantic dacha atmosphere that was common at the end of XIX century Russia. The architecture of the house and its spirit describes the owner who collects 19th century antique furniture. The idea was to create the atmosphere of an old country house of intellectuals. The location perfectly suits the theme. There’s an old park with big trees and open lawns with white daisies next to the barbeque area, along the paths and trails. The whole composition looks cohesive and impressive.
The architecture is contemporary and old-fashioned at the same time. The ceiling height of 3 meters brings airiness to the rooms where natural wood and white walls and lattices create a harmonious combination. Living room, kitchen, dining area and guest rooms are located on the ground floor. Master bedroom and three children’s bedrooms are located in their own privacy on the first floor. The house is built with square log with decorative Sikkens painting. The main decoration is the wooden mosaic on the facade with old style patterns, a feature typical for a Russian dacha.
