This year, the Finnish log home supplier, Honkarakenne Ltd, is celebrating 25 years of home building in Russia. Successful cooperation between Honkarakenne and Rossa Rakenne SPb began in 1995, and has produced around 3,000 high-quality, unique log homes.

The story of the Honka brand in Russia began with the new Russia which emerged in the mid-1990s. The Soviet Union had broken up and incomes were growing, as were opportunities to invest in quality of life. Three young entrepreneurs founded a company to import high-quality Finnish log homes. Demand was high from the beginning. Russian customers wanted a comprehensive service package and, in response, Rossa Rakenne SPb established its own construction business and launched local building operations.
