Honka logs – the heart of your home
Our modern log houses have been tested in the most extreme conditions worldwide, from freezing temperatures to scorching heat and humid climates. We use the latest cutting-edge CLT log construction technology to create the healthiest and sustainable wooden buildings with exceptional architecture.
Honka houses are built from Finnish, Nordic pine and spruce, which are exceptionally durable coniferous wood for long-life log houses. Our timbers are selected from solid core wood which yields exceptional load bearing capacity with little to no cracking. We use sorted wood targeting uniform good quality and a calm appearance. The perfect choice for solid wood structures and naturally relaxing interior environments.
Non-settling Honka Fusion+ CLT logs
Our innovation, the non-settling Honka Fusion+ CLT log, makes it possible to easily incorporate other materials and large glass elements into log wall structures. The solution is based on minimizing the effects of settling with vertical middle layers of laminated logs. The non-settling characteristic is achieved by using a vertical middle lamella and a Wood-On-Wood profile and tightening screws that eliminate installation clearances. The thin seam formed by the log profile creates a modern appearance both inside and outside of the house.
New fourth generation non-settling Honka Fusion+ CLT logs are available in autumn 2025.
The biggest advantages of the new logs are
- Modern design – the graceful finishing of the corners and the minimalistic log joints bring a clear and calm atmosphere to both the facades and interior surfaces
- Natural wooden structure with big solid wood parts and minimized glue lines
- Leading and most tested CLT log technology with more than 22 years and tens of thousands houses’ experience
- Several practical advantages in comparison to for example larger CLT elements
Product Director Eino Hekali:
Why is the Honka CLT log an outstanding choice for architecture?
Honka Fusion+ CLT log is an innovative, ecological solution for modern wooden architecture – genuine massive wood works both on the façade and interior surface as it is without additional cladding, and it can be easily combined with other building materials, such as glass, stone and steel. Eino Hekali, Honka’s product director, is the episode’s expert. This video is subtitled in English, Swedish, German, and Japanese, which can be activated by clicking the ⚙️ icon → Subtitles.

Honka Square logs
Honka square logs are kiln-dried and multi-laminated, resulting in straight and true timbers. They are manufactured from two to eight lamellas using an adhesive that retains the wood’s natural ability to breathe. The bonding joints, undetectable to the naked eye, breathe by allowing water vapour to permeate right through them, meaning they do not form a compact plastic film inside the wood structure.
