La Datcha Astrakhan
A Luxurious lodge by river Volga
Part of the Tinkoff Collection of exclusive holiday destinations, La Datcha Astrakhan is a quiet oasis by the river Volga in Russia – a perfect spot for fishing and spearfishing. Designed for active recreation and relaxing getaways, this luxury lodge is available for booking in its entirety, for holidays with family, friends or business partners.
Every holiday destination in the exclusive Tinkoff Collection emphasises a sporting pursuit of its owner, and the latest addition is no exception: alpine skiing in France, cycling in Italy, and now also angling and spearfishing at La Datcha Astrakhan. “I’m keen on fishing and often come to Astrakhan in summer, so I decided to have a fishing cottage for 20 people built there on a plot covering three hectares. “, explains Oleg Tinkov, the owner of the Tinkoff Collection.
I approached the best designers, architects and other specialists. Honka came out on top and realised a turnkey project for a house made from laminated logs. There’s nothing like it on the same scale and quality of service within a 1000-kilometre radius. I believe that even the most active recreation and sport can be combined with top-notch comfort.
The main house provides comfortable accommodation for up to 12 people, while the guest cottages take a total of 10 people. The first floor of the main house has five bedrooms, four of which have separate balconies. The right wing includes spa and fitness facilities, a steam room, a hamam and a cold plunge pool. A private entrance from the plot leads to a changing room, shower room and drying room where guests can change into something more comfortable and freshen up after fishing. The ground floor of the main house comprises a luxurious drawing room, a cosy dining room with a bar and a billiard room.
La Datcha in Astrakhan was a unique project for Honka. The company had to comply with the strict brand requirements and complete the Astrakhan home by the start of the season. The project as a whole, from the architectural concept to the arrival of the first guests, took just 11 months to complete.
The La Datcha construction demonstrates Honka’s ability to realize large-scale projects efficiently. Which is to say rapid, high-quality design and construction work performed by professionals and transparent finances resulting in an excellent business solution.
La Datcha project is another fine example of Honka’s turnkey solutions. The project was completed by specialists from the Moscow office of Honka. All services – from architectural design through construction and landscaping work to interior decoration with elements manufactured at the company’s own carpentry facility – were developed and implemented by specialists from Rossa Rakenne, the exclusive distributor of the Finnish Honka houses in Russia.
Svetlana Bednyakova, an architect at Honka involved in the project for this home on the Volga, was guided by the concept of a floating dock. The predominance of horizontal lines and the colour of the structure are indeed evocative of pontoons.
We decided to combine wood, Italian marble and travertine and to use flax and woollen burlap for upholstery. Guests will find all of these rooms comfortable even on the hottest days: bright sunlight is kept out by remote-controlled window blinds and thick curtains made from a mixture of natural wool and silk.
The La Datcha on the Volga was built specially for active rest and recreation: Astrakhan is one of the main fishing sites in the country and worldwide. At guests’ disposal are three launches for fishing and trips on the water, along with all the necessary gear: fishing overalls, tackle and bait. You can catch fish on the Volga all year round, and the wardens can show La Datcha guests the best locations for the most enjoyable experience.
La Datcha Astrakhan’s kitchen, with its own chef from St Petersburg, emphasises the fine customs of Russian hospitality. Guests are served traditional Russian dishes and local delicacies: sturgeon, sevruga, starlet, beluga and black and pike caviar.
