The Lootholma Peninsula in South-West Finland offers memorable coastal walks for conference guests, boaters, backpackers and tourists looking for exclusive holiday home breaks. In 2019, Honkarakenne delivered seven modern log cabins for conference tourists to complement the services already available in the area.
The synergy was born out of the need of Kustavin Matkailu Oy to increase the range of services available for conference clients and holiday makers from abroad. Saaristokylä was renovated by tearing down old buildings and replacing those with a new conference centre with stunning views, a reception area and showers for the camping and the marina. Construction began in early 2019 and was completed before the 2019 summer season.
Gorgeous Scandinavian-style cabins provide unforgettable sauna and meeting experiences by the sea. The sauna centre is made up of five buildings: meeting room, two sauna buildings and two sauna rooms. The sauna centre was planned to serve different target groups around the year. In the summer saunas are used by campers and boaters. In the winter the premises serve conference guests.
”We explored the peninsula together with the Managing Director of Lootholma Kimmo Laatta and decided to build individual cabins to maximize the terrace area and give sauna guests peace and privacy,” the supplier of Honka log cabins Mikko Rajamäki said.
Ecologically manufactured of natural materials, the log cabins blend in with the coastal landscape. The dark cabins make a handsome contrast against the backdrop of the evergreen forest and perfectly match the atmosphere of the village.
”Collaboration with Honka was excellent and the log cabins look gorgeous. They match the landscape and I know tourists love the archipelago. This summer we broke the record, hosting 50 000 visitors. We’ll build another four cabins for the sauna centre by the next season,”
Kimmo Laatta from Kustavin Matkailu Oy says.
Lootholma offers accommodation in a picturesque archipelago in the middle of nature. Local guides take you climbing, sailing and fishing. The seaside restaurant is open in the summer and serves delicious meals cooked with local seasonal ingredients. The holiday village also has showers and saunas for the marina and the camping site.
