We have added three, impressive new designs to the popular Honka Frame collection of model homes, which beautifully bring nature and residential life together. The architecture of the new homes blends in with natural contours and landscapes, while light floods into spectacular interiors. See our descriptions of Honka Lauha, Honka Poukama and Honka Tyyni below.
The design of the Idea collection is inspired by endlessly varied and fascinating natural forms. Whether for leisure or permanent residence, or located in a wooded glade, rocky island, or urban environment, our Honka Frame wooden homes capture the most beautiful aspects of nature.
Honka Frame is currently only sold in Finland and Russia.
Architecture inspired by free-flowing natural forms
“Industrial single-family house construction has made little use of the unrestrained forms found in nature, although organic architecture has featured at large, international architectural sites for over a decade. Architecture is now about reflecting the healthy and invigorating natural environment. Design inspired by nature, using wood as a material, helps today’s busy city dwellers to unwind.
The Honka Frame pillar beam design enables organic architecture. It enables us not only to provide open landscape views from indoors, but to implement a highly diverse range of housing solutions which blend in with natural contours. Pillar beam construction enables curved, round and sculpted angular lines.”
– Anne Mäkinen, Head Architect at Honkarakenne
Honka Lauha
Honka Lauha is a sheltered, safe haven providing spectacular views of nature. Natural light floods in and the beautiful landscape soothes the mind. A lounge area invites residents to relax under a protective canopy.
A harmonious design is enabled by Honka Frame’s pillar-beam structure, which allows the flexible bending of wood into the desired shapes. For example, you can create a large open wall with sliding glass doors and enjoy plenty of natural light, or add sophisticated details to the interior with impressive ceiling beams and beautiful wooden joints.
Honka Poukama
Poukama is a dream holiday home which subtly blends in with even the most delicate landscapes. Nature literally floods the interior through the large windows, creating an environment that soothes the mind.
Honka Frame wooden homes combine impressive modern architecture and natural materials with an ecological and traditional production technique. Each wooden joint of a pillar-beam structure is designed to fit perfectly with its counterpart, eliminating the need to hide joints with mouldings. Honka Frame wooden homes are like spectacular wooden sculptures — they harmoniously blend in with their surroundings viewed from all sides.
Honka Tyyni
Tyyni is a bright home with architecture that combines a clear Scandinavian style with a delicate Japanese look.
Our Honka Frame home-idea collection was created to fire your imagination with the range of options for Honka Frame wooden houses. The models can be built as is, or customised in line with your preferences and the characteristics of the plot. Our customers’ preferences, the plot and the surrounding landscape are the key starting points for the design of all Honka Frame wooden houses.
Our experienced team will design and implement high-quality wooden homes based on pillar beam technology, in line with your wishes. Whether you want a large panoramic view of the landscape, or a round wooden igloo with a glass roof, anything is possible with us.
