The new log villas of Premium Resorts in Vierumäki provide high-end accommodation for holidaymakers and a grand setting for business meetings. Fifteen villas are already completed, but more are being built. “It is important to be surrounded by professionals that are the best in their line of work and to trust their vision,” says Premium Resorts CEO Jarno Purtsi about the company’s co-operation with Honka.
The log villas built using Honka’s non-settling logs attract holidaymakers and people working remotely. The holiday resort supplements the many services in the Vierumäki region and opportunities for nature tourism.
CEO Jarno Purtsi says he fell in love with the place well before the company was even established. “I became familiar with the area when I was the Director of Customer Relations & Sales in Vierumäki. That’s when I fell in love with this place – the nature and the services.” But something seemed to be missing. “I realised later that what the place needs is high-end villas for meetings and holiday accommodation to attract people from abroad, too.”
And this was how the idea was born for Premium Resorts Vierumäki, offering modern premises for holidaymakers and remote working surrounded by nature. Now the log villas are busy with visitors. The modern villas equipped with spacious patios and outdoor jacuzzis enable a great holiday and activities in Vierumäki any time of the year. The apartments in the semi-detached houses both have three or four bedrooms, a loft and a spacious patio. The interiors are extremely spacious, with the added feeling of even greater space by the panorama windows towards the pond. Thanks to the added space in the loft, the apartments can easily accommodate 8 to 10 people. Any sports equipment fits in nicely in the 9-m² storage facility.
Honka was chosen as the partner to ensure the eco-friendliness of the construction. Purtsi praises collaboration: “Log was the obvious choice as the building material,” says Purtsi. “Clean indoor air is very important in Finnish housing construction. A log building is a long-term property investment, because even older log cabins rarely have any problems. The carbon footprint is also relatively small.”
Buildings made with non-settling logs are very popular. “Now that the log industry has modernised thanks to non-settling logs, we are able to go for more impressive solutions,” says Purtsi. “Honka has an extremely modern collection, and non-settling logs have enabled clearly different window solutions and more spacious interiors. You just look out the window, and you feel you’re already in nature. That’s a great element.”
According to Tero Pylkkänen, in charge of co-operation at Honka, Premium Resort stands out in the area. “Logs are a healthy, safe and responsible choice. The demands for eco-friendly construction and holiday accommodation have increased, and log buildings like the ones in Premium Resorts meet that demand. Holiday resort construction also makes for an excellent investment,” says Pylkkänen.
“We are also discussing other sites beyond Vierumäki with Premium Resorts. Our co-operation has wide potential. The Honka brand, our visibility and global networks also bring added value to partnerships. We are able to help customers on many fronts,” says Tero Pylkkänen.
“Honka is interested in this project and listens to our views, and we seek solutions together. It is important to be surrounded by professionals that are the best in their line of work and to trust their vision.”

“Honkarakenne is an established business of good financial standing and will be around for a long time. For us, as a young company, it is important that we have a partner we can also rely on in the future.”
