Kide Lodges is a complex of four luxury lodges and a separate sauna and spa building, located in Ylläsjärvi, near Ylläs Ski Resort. The buildings are made from sensory-friendly Honkarakenne logs. The design and construction of the site shows a respect for the surrounding landscape and Finnish nature. Kide Lodges meet the growing demand for high-quality accommodation in Lapland. The resort has a total capacity to accommodate approximately 50 people.

Lapland attracts investment
The story of Kide Lodges began when the company’s partners, Tuomas Nousiainen, Petri Isotalus, Jaakko Salovaara and Tuukka Murto, combined their dreams of quality holiday homes in the heart of Lapland’s stunning national landscape. The friends also shared the desire to offer people the opportunity to effortlessly experience the unique nature of the seven fells of Ylläs from ski-in ski-out accommodation close to services. The resort area was designed with a focus on functionality, which active travellers appreciate. The lodges were designed with meticulous architectural detail and a respect for the special features of the plot. Finnish interior material choices and large windows allow indoor living to blend with the surrounding nature.
Despite global instability, the tourism market in Lapland has shown exceptional resilience. The region’s unique appeal, clean nature and wide range of leisure activities attract tourists all year round. International tourists also create a demand for luxury resorts and, especially in high season, the weekly rents for high-end lodges can reach five-figure sums. This appeal, combined with Lapland’s solid reputation as a safe and exotic travel destination, makes complexes such as Kide Lodges an attractive investment opportunity.
Resort construction in close cooperation with owners
Kide Lodges resort needed a reliable partner for the ambitious and demanding project. As a
pioneer in sustainable timber construction and a seasoned expert in regional construction,
Honkarakenne was a natural choice.
“There were not many companies in Finland with the capacity to deliver such challenging
structures,” says Nousiainen. “Honkarakenne had the capacity to do so, and we have had an
open line of communication right from the planning stage.”
Honkarakenne brought to the project its long-term experience in regional construction
projects and sustainable log construction. Finnish logs were chosen for their natural, health-
promoting properties and timeless durability – essential parts of the underlying values of
Kide Lodges. Everything is based on smooth cooperation and open communication with the
owners.
